This is the kind of LAN we actually finish — not a pile of apps that each have their own remote.
Map first
Router, PCs, phones, TVs, thermostat, speakers, printer. Who is on Wi-Fi, who is on a cable. Then we change things.
Wire the heavy traffic
Desktops and a home server on Cat6. Phones and tablets stay on Wi-Fi. Media does not fight the doorbell.
One dashboard
Power the TV, set the heat, talk to the speaker, see if a device dropped off — without four vendor apps.
You own it
Passwords and accounts stay yours. We document IPs and what each box does so the next person (or you) is not guessing.
